Resident- Center for Sustainable Living

I lived in the center for sustainable living (AKA the Treehouse) for five semesters while I was at dickinson. The Treehouse is a place where sustainability-minded students can live and work together to support and promote sustainability efforts among themselves and throughout the Dickinson College campus. 

Organic Chemistry Tutor/ Biochemistry Teaching Assistant

  • Assisted in instructing 24 and 19 undergraduates in first semester organic chemistry lab (Fall 2015) and biochemistry lab (Spring 2016), respectively.

  • Prepared buffers, reagents, and analytical instruments for each lab

  • Assisted the instructor in testing new lab protocols

Collectively instructed over 50 undergraduates in organic chemistry 1 & 2 in periodic group sessions
Individually assisted 3 students for a single semester, met every week for 2 to 6 hours per week

Lab Coordinator/Technition- Alliance for Aquatic Resource Monitoring

The Alliance for Aquatic Resource Monitoring (ALLARM) is a community building organization focused on educating, engaging, and empowering local communities through monitoring stream health.  At allarm, I worked primarily in the lab, where I... 

• Analyzed approximately 400 water samples for Conductivity, pH; >100 for nitrates and phosphates 
• Prepared samples for Ba/ Sr analysis via ICP-AAS
• Educated and corresponded with over 70 volunteer water monitors on stream chemistry and chemical monitoring

Naturalist- Lake Roland Park (Baltimore, Maryland)

  • Accessibly communicated subjects spanning biology, chemistry, and environmental science to over 50 non-scientists

Environmental Educator - Nature Camps Inc.

For two summers (2010 and 2011), I worked as a counselor/ environmental interpretor at Nature Camps Inc. an outdoor day camp for children 5-16 that emphazises the inestimable worth of each child. During my time at NC, I mentored 7-12 children in small groups, led half-and full-day trips in hiking, canoeing, orienteering, and biking.
